Privacy Policy

Effective Date: December 5, 2025

Your privacy is a serious matter. This policy details how data is processed when you interact with the temple website. The operator and Data Controller for this website is Michael Korman located in the United States of America.

1. Data Collection & Purpose

A. Contact Form

Messages sent via the contact forms are stored in a secure Google Sheet. This data (Contact Information, Inquiry Content, and Technical Data such as IP address/timestamp) is used for two purposes:

  1. To respond to your specific inquiry.

  2. For internal analysis, user experience optimization, and fraud prevention, allowing us to review past inquiries to refine website functionality and improve automated filters.

Data will be retained for a maximum of 48 months following the last communication, as this extended period is necessary for the temple's long-term product development and comparative user flow analysis. Following the 48-month period, the data will be securely anonymized (stripped of all identifying information, such as name and email) and retained indefinitely solely for historical and trend analysis.

B. Purchases & Marketing List

When you purchase a product, we collect the necessary transactional data (billing information, email, purchase history) to fulfill your order and issue receipts.

Mailing List Consent: You are not automatically added to our marketing mailing list. After purchase, we may send a separate, transactional email inviting you to join. You will only be subscribed to the MailerLite-managed list if you affirmatively click the confirmation link in that email (double opt-in).

2. Tracking Technologies & Third Parties

We use analytical and essential third-party services that process your data. Your use of these services involves the setting of cookies:

Service Purpose Data Type Collected (Examples)
PostHog Analytics and understanding user behavior. IP address, device information, browser type, pages visited, usage data.
Payment Processors (e.g., PayHip) Transaction processing and security. Payment details, shipping address, names.

Your Consent: For non-essential tracking (like PostHog), cookies are not set without your explicit consent via our cookie banner.

3. Data Retention

We retain transactional data for a minimum of 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements. Mailing list subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form data is deleted after 48 months of inactivity.

4. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you have specific rights regarding your personal data.

  • GDPR (EU/UK): You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. The lawful basis for processing transactional data is the performance of a contract, and for marketing data is your explicit consent.
  • CCPA/CPRA (California): You have the right to know, the right to deletion, and the right to opt-out of the "selling" or "sharing" of personal information.

If you are a California resident and wish to opt out of the sharing of data via analytics (e.g., PostHog), send an email to michael@michaelkorman.com.

5. Policy Updates & Contact

We may update this policy periodically. The latest version will always be posted here.
