Even when writing a book about online business you could still have a passion for a myriad of things: Teaching, writing, analyzing, etc. But it would seem like your passion is for the money and only the money. You want to know: is it safe to look at the world Michael’s way? The answer? No. Almost certainly not. I didn’t arrive at this worldview all in one go. I didn’t sign on with some guru. I didn’t just make it up to sell a book. I tried doing X and it made me gain 70 pounds. I tried doing Y and it gave me chronic pain in my right forearm. I tried doing Z and it made my voice crack when I sang a high C. On and on. Over a period of years. Eventually, the totality of it forced me to say, 'yeah, everything they taught me is bullshit. Results DO actually matter. Process DOES actually matter. Numbing yourself has real consequences.' But if you have a better way to do it, you should do it that way. Do not surrender your discernment to some random guy on the Internet. I didn’t get here by doing that. Alright, now let’s talk details.

The vignettes above are bits and pieces of my story. Your story is a different matter entirely. And yet, as I’m sure you know, there’s gold to be mined there as well—artifacts, visual grammar, parables and lore.

We’ll flesh it out on a call. I’ll give you homework. I won’t grade it. You’ll show me what you currently have. I’ll evaluate it. We’ll talk on Google Meet for an hour. It will not go longer. I’ll give you an assessment based on the material in The Temple Papers.

You’ll talk to me about how you currently deal with Noise. I’ll keep asking questions until I have a clear idea of what’s really going on.

I’ll find the flaws in your systems and lay them out in concrete terms so you can see what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong. The more honest and straightforward you are with me, the smoother it will go.

Please bring with you a list of Noise and Signal: representative examples of each type. This includes: social media comments, feedback from customers or audience members, stuff from people who’ve paid you money and from those who haven’t, from haters and from fans, stuff you feel good about and stuff that throws you off. I need to see it all.

Please also bring links/screenshots of any experiences/funnels you’ve built. Web pages. Posts. Videos. Sales pages. Appetizers. Songs. Games. Demos. Anything that leads to anything else. I need a sense of what you’ve built. The world you want people to move through.

During the first half of the call, you will share this material with me.

During the second half, I’ll try to break it. Conceptually, not physically. But please don’t book a call if you’re attached to what you already have. We will explore possibilities, ones you haven’t considered.

I know that sounds ominous. And it is. So do the work ahead of time, please. Do not cherry-pick. We need all kinds of random stuff on the table.
